A Week Aboard in Bali

The route that reaches everything without rushing: east to Tulamben, north to the Gilis, then south to the Nusa islands and home.

Why seven nights

Four nights is the minimum and it covers the Nusa islands. Seven is the first length that also reaches Tulamben in the east and the Gilis to the north without turning the week into a delivery trip.

  • Departs and returns Serangan.
  • Mantas at Nusa Penida are most reliable April to October.
  • The route is a starting point, not a fixed schedule.

Day by day

How the week runs

  1. Serangan to Tulamben

Depart Bali and sail east up the coast. Snorkelling or diving on arrival.

  2. Tulamben to the Gilis

The reefs in the morning, then north across the strait to the Gili Islands.

  3. Gili Trawangan

The busiest of the three, and the one with an evening to it.

  4. Gili Meno and Gili Air

Snorkelling off both, and dinner from the chef at anchor.

  5. Nusa Penida

South again to the cliff line and the marine life.

  6. Nusa Lembongan

Ashore on foot, dinner locally, water toys through the afternoon.

  7. Back to Serangan

Breakfast on deck on the way in.

Days two to four are in Lombok waters — the Gili Islands sit about 35km east of Bali. Say so and we will keep the week inside Bali instead.
