Permits and Insurance

The two things nobody asks about until they matter. We handle the permits; the insurance is yours.

What is actually required

Cruising the Nusa Islands means entering a marine protected area, and that carries a permit. We arrange it. Insurance is the part you arrange, and the reason is arithmetic: a medical evacuation from Nusa Penida to mainland Bali costs far more than the cover most travellers already hold.

  • Nusa Penida MPA covers Penida, Lembongan and Ceningan — around 20,000 hectares.
  • Permits are charged per vessel per entry. Ask for price.
  • The MPA was established in 2014 and is managed by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.

Why it matters

What insurance is for

Medical evacuation

From Nusa Penida to mainland Bali is expensive and standard health cover does not include it.

Trip cancellation

A whole-yacht week is a substantial commitment. Cancellation cover protects it against illness or emergency.

Dive cover specifically

General travel policies often exclude diving. Check the depth limit and whether it covers a chamber.

The ordinary things

Lost bags and delays, which on a fixed embarkation date matter more than they would on land.

Permits depend on which parks the itinerary enters. Send the route and we will tell you exactly what applies.
